We use the word ‘contemporary’ to infer that a modern influence pervades the majority of our designs, but the degree to which this applies will vary according to the clients requirements. For example, we could develop a derivative form of a classic design style or perhaps simply make minor alterations to a style. We could create an entirely new design not based upon any previous style. At the other end of the spectrum a client could request an exact replica of an existing piece. In all cases the final agreed design will be the result of careful consultation with the client to ensure that the finished piece matches their specific requirements and taste.

Our designs typically display clean lines, curves with tension or ‘speed’ and we only include fine detailing which enhances the balance or harmony of the overall design concept. Considerable attention is given to selecting only woods of the finest quality, particularly in terms of colour, figuring and grain direction. A wide range of natural finishes, all applied traditionally, are available including French polishing, oil or wax.

We are able to work with both solid wood and veneered constructions or a mixture of both. Most European and North American hardwoods are readily available and it is often possible to obtain fine quality Far Eastern exotic timbers.
